Product Description (Men's Carhartt 03965)
We know working outdoors can be demanding. These hiking-inspired boots are designed to stand up to the rigors of Mother Nature.
Built to keep the elements out and comfort in, with waterproof full grain leather, oil- and slip-resistant X-Cleat rubber sole and lightweight hiker styling. Alpine lining, treated to be anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, moves moisture away from the foot while providing a soft touch.
Non-metallic shanks offer outstanding support without setting off metal detectors in airports and secure building sites. Cement bond construction binds the upper and insole onto the entire surface of the outsole resulting in a flexible, lightweight boot and perfectly fitting outsole.

I bought this shoe to wear under black pants as a part of my "uniform." As a corporate pilot with a fused ankle, comfortable shoes are my most necessary commodity. I walk in all types of weather, often on slippery surfaces, and require good tread and good ankle support. Not only are these shoes great looking (and even can pass under my pants as dressy), but I slip in them and they are phenomenally comfortable. Thank you so much!

In need of replacing my current boots (worn out) I did some research of current boot offerings that have waterproof leather, slip resistant soles / heels, non metal shanks / toe protection, easy lace-up and that looked good. I settled on the Carhartt for the above reasons. The product is truly outstanding, very comfortable, well constructed and I anticipate....long lasting. 5 Stars.

Previously purchased boot in brown and very pleased. Was extremely happy to see it was FINALLY available in black, as am veteran police officer and tried many, many brands and styles boots over the years with little satisfaction. As soon as located, ordered immediately. Shipped promptly and upon receipt, opened & put right on. Have already "broke-in" feel. Extremely durable. Soles wear like iron.(brown ones almost three years old and have just started to show some wear on tread edges) Also, black ones polish up nice and hold great gloss for keeping up "professional" look. If in need of black (or brown) waterproof quarter boot that feels GREAT on, this is boot to buy!
