I needed a tough, solid work shoe and thought I would try Carhartt. These are well constructed, nice-looking and have a very good sole. The only issues I have with them is the size is about 1 larger than marked, and they could be perfect if Carhartt would add some more cushioning to the inside. I had to purchase some extra insoles to get the padding I needed. I've worn them everyday for about 3 weeks, and they seem to be holding up very well.
