Plaid is a term used to describe fabrics or materials which feature horizontal and vertical color stripes over a contrasting solid color to create a checkered pattern that resembles a Scottish tartan.
Plaid designs have been around for centuries but more recently they have been revived to convey a lively, colorful and fresh look in bags, footwear and apparel.
