Nylites, born in 1967, were soon regarded as the first luxury sports shoe. These canvas tennis shoes reigned supreme on courts around the world in the 1970s.
With a distinct "v" toe shape and lightweight rubber outsole, today's Nylite maintains the same timeless design.
The Tretorn Nylite Canvas features a soft lining that provides sockless comfort. Traditionalists favor the tennis whites, but the color-contrasting Gullwing logo and lining offer a fun alternative.

Not the same Tretorns

I was thrilled to see that I could still get my beloved Tretorn sneakers online but totally disappointed in the quality once I received them. The shoes were a dingy off-white, no longer has the same comfy insole, and were totally lacking in arch support. Tretorn has apparently sold out to the lowest common denominator.

I bought these sneakers because I'd always had good luck with Tretorn sneakers. I've been wearing them since Junior High School (back in the late 70's). I was really disappointed this time in the quality of the shoe. No longer are they thick and padded inside, and the inner sole of the shoe is entirely flat. My, how Tretorn has truly gone down hill in quality in the past 10 years!

Unlike the original Tretorns

These shoes were slightly discolored and not the bright white like the originals. The inside sole was cheap and very thin. The shoe laces were very thin and could break easily when pulled. The original Tretorns had a terry cloth cushioned sole and the canvas fabric was thicker than the new ones. The original shoe laces were better too. You could get a pair of Keds that are more durable. I miss the original, better quality Tretorns!

The shoes arrived quickly but appeared to be slightly discolored and not the bright white I remembered.

Even though these shoes have slightly yellowed, they are the same old comfortable Tretorns from the yesteryear. Great buy, but they are slightly yellow.
