Product Description (Women's Vasque Sundowner Classic GTX)
This mid-weight backpacker has a reputation for comfort and old-school style, which may explain why it's as common at the grocery store as on the trail.
It's also equally at home under the weight of a pack or on a casual day hike.
Shaft Height:
4 1/4" (size 7M)
Fit:
This style tends to run large. For an accurate fit we recommend purchasing a 1/2 size smaller than you typically purchase. For example, if you normally purchase a size 7 1/2, we recommend purchasing a size 7.

My second pair of Sundowners
November 01, 2009
Reviewer: Lynn from Duluth, Minnesota
Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked
Shoe Width: Felt wider than marked
I have had a pair of Sundowners for 15 years. I love them. I need good ankle support and these have it. The new ones are definitely larger, especially wider, than my old ones. I ordered 1/2 size smaller and debated whether to go even smaller, but I wear orthotics and also wanted room for thick socks. The new ones are cutout around the back of the ankle unlike the originals. They'll need breaking in but I don't think you could find a better boot.
Wears this shoe: I wear them walking, hiking, grocery shopping, anytime I want good foot support.

The only boot for me!

I had a pair of these boots for 10 years. I originally got them for hiking in Yosemite, and they climbed Mt. Katahdin, too! But mostly, I wore them every day to work (walking to public transportation) for 8 years. The old pair are still completely waterproof, but I wore the soles down at an angle so I couldn't wear them anymore. I am so happy to now have a new pair of these very warm, completely waterproof, stable, durable boots! I wouldn't wear anything else!
Wears this shoe: Commuting, casual wear, hiking, whenever it's wet or cold!

good boots

I like these boots. Well made. Mostly comfortable. Initially the right boot was stiff and cut into my big toe when I bent my foot, but it didn't take hardly any time(hours)to break them in. I need waterproof boots with good traction for work, and I have wide feet with falling arches. As a result, I have a very hard time finding boots to fit and are comfortable enough to stand in for hours at a time. These fit the bill, so I am happy with my purchase.

The only hiking boots I own

I have been buying these boots for years. They are comfortable and durable. The one piece leather design means there is less stitching (places that would allow water to seep in). The only drawback is they are on the heavy side.

VASQUE hIKING BOOT

I first purchased this same boot 9 years ago and am replacing it only because there is very little tread left and I was slipping off the wet rocks in the Lake District last summer in England. I have been extremely pleased with the quality and the unbelievable comfort of these boots. Actually I was dreading looking for a replacement because I was sure I couldn't find these boots again after 9years. I am so pleased that they are still around. I hike all over the world in these boots: from the UK and the continent to Costa Rica andPeru. They did very well climbing small mountains in Northern New England too. They have goretex which is absolutely essential as I hike in all kinds of weather.I wear a size 6-6 1/2 AA shoe and these fit like a glove from the moment I put them on. They are so comfortable I believe because there are no seams over the toe area: no place to rub and irritate. I would highly recommend these to anyone. These boots are not warm enough for me to wear in the winters here in Michigan however I do hike in them from April-November.ENJOY!!!
Wears this shoe: Hiiking, day walks, climbing, traveling around the world, work
