Product Description (Yaktrax Pro)
The Yaktrax Pro will give you the same solid, predictable grip you are accustomed to feeling on dry surfaces, and unlike other shoe traction devices, Yaktrax won't damage carpets or most flooring material.
When you walk or run with Yaktrax, the scientifically engineered horizontal and vertical coils place hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet. Yaktrax create a solid grip by way of our exclusive Skidlock coil system. As you step, each tiny Skidlock coil presses downward, becoming embedded into the ice below.
As you transfer your weight onto your foot, hundreds of Skidlock surfaces squeeze into the ice providing you with stability in all directions. When you lift your foot, the Skidlock coil system stays snugly with your shoe, offering unhindered ease of movement.
You will move about naturally. There's nothing new to learn, just walk as you normally would and experience stability on ice and snow like you have never felt before. The removable VELCRO performance strap will help keep your Yaktrax in place.

YakTrax - excellent for outdoor winter ice/walking conditions!

They provide excellent stability while walking in/on: ice, snow, slush, snowbanks, etc! Beware, as stated in the guide, they are NOT for indoor use at all. This makes it difficult when you commute by public transportation and have to exit the train, outdoors, then indoor station, then outdoors again. It is VERY easy to slip and fall when wearing these inside (station) on flooring. Since so deadly on indoor floors I would hope they could make them easier to put on and take off. I rate 4.5 stars, a 5 if I hadn't almost wiped out each time I had them on inside for 5 minute station walk!
Yaktrax Pro -- great idea, not a great product

This has been an icy winter. Yaktrax seemed like a perfect solution EXCEPT: They are hard to get on over shoes. They smell awful. You can't put them on in the house (The info made it sound as if you could), so you can injure yourself just trying to get ready to use them.

Yaktrax offers stability on ice - something I needed for myself and my disabled brother. Couldn't walk around this part of Michigan without them. They require some hand strength to put on and probably would be difficult for someone with severe hand problems or weakness. I have no problem and I am 64 yrs. old. I have 4 pair of the yaktrax and 1 of the yaktrax Pro that I use if conditions are such that I might lose one. The strap across the foot helps prevent this. I never wear them on slick floors. You could fall easily however they are quite safe on carpet, dirt, pavement, and snow and ice. For the price - they are great and I always feel safe when I wear them. Couldn't do without my yaktrax!
LIKE MY YAX

I recently purchased some Yax Trax for a ski trip we took to Vail, CO. I did not need to use them as the common areas were immaculately kept. However, I tried them on my boots and they fit perfectly and did not look out of place on me. I truly believe that they would have worked perfectly if the conditions would have allowed. I look forward to next years trip so that I can give them a test run.

I expected a "Grip Effect" The springs are not stud-like and are not that good
